In translation from Greek “Iris” is “rainbow”. This name was given to the flower, very diverse in color, by the founder of healing himself, Hippocrates.
According to legend, the first iris that appeared in the world was so magnificent that not a single living creature remained indifferent to its beauty. Iris, as an interior decoration, has been known since the 3rd millennium BC: its first images were found among the murals of the Palace of Knossos in Crete. According to the Feng Shui tradition, iris in the house is a symbol of hope and faith, and the color of iris, deep blue, is the color of concentration, great aspirations and success. Paintings, panels or vases with irises are advised to be placed on the western side of the living space.
